Mac dvd burning problems

I don't have a mac, so I'm asking here.

My friend (with a mac) edited a movie, its 89 minutes long (because you can't burn if it's 90 or something) and still gets the error message that the movie file is too long when he wants to burn it from Imovie to Idvd. 'Can't burn because of the time'.

Any help here?

I'm led to believe that iDVD4 can do up to 2 hours with VBR encoding.

sounds like you have an older version?

you could always try Toast6 DVD encoding option ... rubbish menu though

maybe you could try your luck with sizzle

I know iDVD won't burn to an external drive. At least iDVD3.

That's my 2 cents.

1: Check u have at least 6gb free for encoding.
2: Go to the iDVD menu>Preferences then check to see best Quality is selected (not best performance)
3: Menu's, titles etc. take up a lot of the space on the disk, check the amount of menus, pictures and movies you have for the menus.
